In Nia, when we refer to The Base we are talking about the lower extremities.  Specifically the feet, ankles, lower leg, knees, thigh and hips. This Playshop covers proper use of The Base doing Nia movements. It covers ways to stretch and strengthen The Base using Nia, and it clearly describes how to increase or decrease the intensity of Nia exercises without adding impact or sacrificing comfort and safety of the body. 

Beginners and Nia veterans will benefit from this information and opportunity to practice alignment of The Base. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and personal issues regarding The Base for JAG to answer during this playshop. 


The first 90 minutes of the playshop will be talking, demonstration and practice; no music. The last hour will be a full classic Nia class with a focus on The Base.
